New Regulations for Substituting Personal Doctors

May 22, 2026

Starting from June 1, new regulations will limit the overlap among personal doctors to prevent a single doctor from overseeing thousands of patients. Doctors will be allowed to have up to four substitutes simultaneously, but their total patient count must not exceed 5,000. This change addresses misuse of the system observed in the past. The new rules introduce conditions and procedures for doctor replacements. The Health Insurance Organization has informed doctors about these new regulations.
