Parliamentary Election Results: New Balances and Challenges in Cyprus

The parliamentary elections on May 24, 2026 revealed significant changes in Cyprus's political landscape. The parties DISY and AKEL maintained their seats, while ELAM significantly strengthened its position. However, the centrist space has shrunk. The new parliament is made up of six parties, and while the number of parties hasn't increased, complexity arises from their relationships. There is now greater uncertainty regarding governance and new political formations have emerged.
