Mandatory Electronic Rent Payments Starting in 2026

Starting from July 1, 2026, rental payments in Cyprus will be mandatory only through electronic means. The Tax Department announced that payments can be made via bank transfers, debit, or credit cards. This regulation applies to all individuals and legal entities, regardless of the amount of rent. The aim of this requirement is to enhance transparency in rental transactions. All recipients must comply with the new rules.
