Military and Police Actions Against Foot-and-Mouth Disease in Cyprus

Following a meeting at the Presidential Palace regarding foot-and-mouth disease, authorities are taking immediate action. The army and police are stepping in to protect veterinary services during the culling of infected animals. The Minister of Agriculture points out that these cullings need to be completed quickly. Resistance is growing among farmers, and the situation at livestock units is critical. So far, over 45,000 sheep and goats have been culled, along with a significant number of other animals.
