Negative Assessment of Leopard 1A5 by the National Guard

The condition of the Greek Leopard 1A5 battle tanks does not meet the needs of the National Guard, according to the GEEF. A team from Cyprus assessed the vehicles in Greece and found them unsuitable. As a result, there is no agreement between Greece and Cyprus for the transfer of these tanks. Efforts to strengthen the National Guard's fleet continue, with Israeli Merkava tanks remaining a top priority. However, the situation in the region, particularly developments in southern Lebanon, has delayed any potential agreements.
