Formation of the Selection Committee in Parliament

The first meeting of the Leaders and Representatives of parliamentary parties concluded, focusing on the composition of the Selection Committee. This committee is expected to be elected by the Plenary of the Parliament next Thursday. It will consist of three members from DISY, three from AKEL, and one from both DIKO and ELAM. The President of the Parliament will also participate ex officio in the Committee. Additionally, the possibility of restructuring parliamentary committees was discussed, but ELAM's proposal to reduce their number does not seem to have the necessary majority support.
