Appeal Court Overturns Bail Decision in Domestic Violence Case

The Court of Appeal overturned the decision of the Famagusta District Court, which had released three accused individuals on bail for domestic violence. The accused, a father and his two children, face serious charges including violence and child abuse. The Prosecution had requested their detention due to the risk of flight and re-offending. The Court of Appeal found that the initial ruling overestimated the personal circumstances of the defendants. Therefore, it ordered their detention until the trial set for 2026.
