Investigation Procedures Initiated Following Teen's Escape from Police Custody

A 17-year-old escaped from police custody in Nicosia, where he was held for a theft case. The Chief of Police, Themistocles Arnaoutis, ordered a disciplinary investigation into the police officer involved in the escape. Following the escape, a police operation was launched to locate the teen, with increased patrols. The 17-year-old was found and arrested a few hours later. Procedures for placing the police officer on suspension have already begun.
