Concerns about food safety and chemical risks

The food we consume may not be as safe as we think. The World Health Organization and experts warn about the rise of foodborne illnesses and the dangers posed by chemicals. On average, 855 million people fall ill each year from unsafe food. Particularly alarming are the figures indicating that children under five are the most vulnerable. The majority of deaths related to contaminated food are linked to chemical substances.
