Couple Arrested in Cyprus for Importing Opiate Drugs

The CYCA seized a large amount of opiate drugs in Cyprus, for the first time in such quantities. A 35-year-old man and his 31-year-old wife were arrested. The operation took place at Larnaca Airport, where 52 packages of dried poppy stems weighing a total of 10 kilograms were found. Additional packages and drug processing equipment were discovered at the 35-year-old's residence. The CYCA is continuing the investigation.
