American Businessman Arrested for Medicare Fraud

Ibrahim Khaldun Hilmi, an American businessman, was arrested in Turkey for allegedly orchestrating a $3.7 billion fraud against Medicare. He created a network of companies that submitted fraudulent claims for medical equipment without real patients. Hilmi evaded U.S. authorities for a significant time before being captured by Turkish authorities. The successful operation involved collaboration between the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice.
