Inability to Implement Healthcare Laws Due to Nurse Shortage
June 26, 2026
The Health Minister stated that three laws related to healthcare services cannot be implemented due to a shortage of nurses in Cyprus. Neofytos Haralambidis emphasized the need for prioritizing legislative initiatives to improve the situation. The lack of nurses severely affects the provision of healthcare services to citizens. Despite the existence of bills aimed at addressing the issue, no requests for licensing new rehabilitation centers have been submitted. The government aims to ensure that the rights of healthcare workers are not compromised.
