Intensified Inspections on Businesses for Receipts and Tax Debts

Tax authorities in Cyprus are starting inspections of businesses that do not issue receipts or have significant tax debts. The inspections will focus mainly on tourist areas and seasonal businesses like restaurants and water sports shops. Additionally, large debtors with liabilities over €1 million will be checked. Tax officers will stop customers outside businesses to verify the receipts they received. The Tax Commissioner stated that the inspections will begin very soon.
