'Elpis' App and Its Support for Women Facing Domestic Violence

The 'Elpis' app has helped 27 women request police assistance for domestic violence incidents within one year of operation. To date, 457 women have installed the app on their mobile phones. The immediate activation of the SOS feature and automatic location tracking have facilitated a quick police response. Response times range from 6 to 12 minutes. 'Elpis' is seen as an innovative initiative for the protection of women in Cyprus.
