YKAN's Success in Combating Drug Trafficking in Cyprus

The Drug Enforcement Agency (YKAN) successfully dismantled a network involved in the import and trafficking of narcotics, specifically 60 kilograms of opium poppy. In targeted operations that began in June 2026, they arrested 21 individuals, and two more are being sought. There are 17 related cases, with 16 already referred to court. Additionally, YKAN collaborated with a foreign company to limit drug shipments to Cyprus. YKAN's operations continue to prevent drug trafficking in the country.
