Unidentified Source of Foot-and-Mouth Disease and Compensation Issues

It has been over four months since the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Cyprus, yet the source of the infection remains unidentified. So far, there have been 121 infected farms, and 80,133 animals have been slaughtered. Farmers are expressing strong concerns about compensation and support measures. Legislators are demanding a quicker compensation process, with many cases still pending. The situation remains challenging, as free grazing is still prohibited.
