Return of GMI due to change in family status
July 8, 2026
A woman who received the Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI) for two years has been asked to return €11,040 due to concealing important information about her family status. She became engaged and was also engaged in undeclared work, which led to the termination of the benefits. After appealing to the Administrative Court, the decision to return the funds was confirmed. Although the applicant claimed she did not receive the relevant notification, the court found that the proper procedures were followed. Ultimately, the woman must return the amount she received unjustifiably.
