Changes to Take-Away Coffee: Obligations for Customers' Personal Containers

Significant changes are coming for coffee vendors in the EU, as they will be required to fill customers' personal containers without additional charges. This regulation will take effect in 2027, and coffee establishments must accept personal containers. Additionally, cafes must offer the same prices irrespective of the packaging used. There are no exceptions for very small businesses. From 2030, single-use plastic packaging will be banned in dining areas.
