Strengthening Cyprus-France Defense Cooperation through the SAFE Program

Cyprus is strengthening its strategic relations with France through the European SAFE program, as it awaits the delivery of French communication systems. For the first time, 20 members of the National Guard will participate in the Bastille Day parade in Paris, attended by President Christodoulides. The defense cooperation between Cyprus and France has been ongoing for decades and includes sourcing 80% of military equipment through this program. The planning includes a total budget of 1.18 billion euros for enhancing Cyprus's defense capabilities. This collaboration underscores Cyprus's commitment to having a robust deterrent military force.
