Cyprus and Lebanon Seek Funding for Electricity Interconnection

Cyprus and Lebanon are moving forward with an official request to the World Bank for funding a power interconnection pipeline. The governments of both countries will sign a letter regarding this request. As part of this cooperation, they jointly approached the World Bank in 2025 for a feasibility study on the project. A historic agreement defining their Exclusive Economic Zones was signed at the end of 2025. This interconnection aims to enhance the electricity infrastructure in the region.
