Christodoulides and von der Leyen Meeting on Cyprus and EU-Turkish Issues

President Nikos Christodoulides and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed their shared position on the Cyprus issue and EU-Turkish relations during a meeting in Paris. They agreed that a resolution to the Cyprus problem must align with the values of the European Union. Progress in the Cyprus issue should come before exploring EU-Turkish relations. They also discussed Cyprus's full accession to Schengen. This meeting coincided with the appointment of the EU Special Envoy for the Cyprus issue.
