The Citizenship Situation of Bora Markovic in Cyprus

Bora Markovic, a photographer living in Cyprus for 30 years, is still waiting for his citizenship. Despite his work showcasing the country internationally, his applications have been repeatedly denied due to bureaucratic gaps. The Interior Minister hinted at the possibility of honorary citizenship if certain criteria are met. His latest application was denied in 2023, and there are currently no other pending applications. MP Christos Christofides urges the government to consider Markovic's situation for humanitarian reasons.
