Testing of the Digital Euro with Participation of Cypriot Organizations

The European Central Bank is advancing the testing of the digital euro, with the Bank of Cyprus and JCC Payment Systems participating in the pilot phase. This process will last for one year and will examine technical infrastructures and user experience. Their participation is significant for the Cypriot market as they will contribute to the development of these infrastructures. The Central Bank of Cyprus is pleased with the selection of these providers. The final decision on the circulation of the digital euro will be made later, after necessary procedures are completed.
