Low Participation in COVID-19 Vaccination in Cyprus
July 15, 2026
The new report from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reveals a significant hesitancy towards COVID-19 vaccination across Europe. Only 6.4% of those aged over 60 received the vaccine, with Cyprus having one of the lowest vaccination rates. Specifically, only 0.7% of those aged 60-69 and 2.3% of those aged 80 and above were vaccinated. The report also notes that countries record data in various ways. Despite these discrepancies, overall participation in vaccination remains low.
