Increased Installation of Smart Meters by AEC

The Cyprus Electricity Authority (AEC) is ahead of schedule in installing smart meters. They have ordered an additional 100,000 meters, aiming to cover over 80% of homes in Cyprus by June 2027. AEC has secured €13.7 million in funding from European sources for this initiative. If additional funding isn't obtained, costs will be covered by AEC's own resources. Consumers will not bear these costs.
