Growth in European Consumers Shopping from Chinese E-commerce Platforms
July 16, 2026
Chinese e-commerce platforms have become popular in Europe, with over half of eurozone consumers shopping from them. Low prices and a wide variety of products are the main reasons for this choice. The countries with the highest usage are Greece, Portugal, and Spain, while Germany and France have lower percentages. Households with low and middle incomes are particularly active in these markets. The European Commission is monitoring the rise of low-value imports from China, showing significant volume increases year-on-year.
