Increase in State Grant for Municipalities

Recent consultations between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Finance have led to a new formula for financial support to municipalities. The state grant will increase to €144 million annually, with a review every three years. The first review will take place in 2027, and the grant could rise to €147.9 million. This increase will be based on the growth of the government's net primary expenditures. The government emphasized that the proposal accepts the municipalities' association's estimates regarding road maintenance.
