The ELDYK and the Strategic Battles of 1974 in Cyprus

In 1974, during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, the ELDYK forces were at the forefront of the conflict. They reacted immediately with offensive operations against Turkish positions. On the first day of the attack, Turkish soldiers faced serious difficulties and the Greek side achieved successes. However, the Turkish air force responded with severe bombings, while Turkey repeatedly violated ceasefires. These battles led to significant losses and ultimately, Turkish forces continued their advance in Cyprus.
