New Alzheimer's Treatment Implemented in Cyprus

A new treatment for Alzheimer's disease has been implemented for the first time in Cyprus, providing hope for patients in the early stages of the illness. The treatment involves administering the monoclonal antibody donanemab, which has been approved for use in the EU since 2025. It requires careful monitoring, accompanied by magnetic resonance imaging during the treatment process. The first patient to receive the treatment is a 72-year-old woman with mild symptoms. There are hopes that other patients in Cyprus will also qualify for this therapy.
