Half of Businesses Violate Tax Legislation

Recent reports from the Tax Department reveal that 50% of the businesses checked have violated new tax laws. Inspections conducted at 30 seaside businesses showed that they either did not issue receipts or did not accept credit cards. Although the sample size is small, the results indicate a serious problem. Tax authorities are hopeful that cooperation from citizens will assist in ensuring compliance. If businesses do not comply, they will face penalties, such as the sealing of premises.
