The maritime passenger connection between Cyprus and Greece is secured until 2027, with a decision on funding continuation after 2028 expected to be made within 2027. Kyriakos Aliouris, the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Shipping, stated that the current contract has been extended and everything is operating normally this year. Data collected over the years will be evaluated before a final decision is made. He characterized the connection's progress as positive, noting that it has been well-received by the public. If the funding continues, a new tender may be required.
