The tax-free allowance in Cyprus has increased almost tenfold from 1991 to 2026. Initially, the allowance was 2,000 pounds and now it reaches 22,000 euros. Tax brackets have changed a total of nine times due to economic conditions and other factors. The changes aimed to attract foreign investors. The latest tax brackets have remained stable for 17 years.
