Removal of a large stone from the bladder in Sri Lanka

In Sri Lanka, doctors removed a 3.1-kilogram stone from the bladder of a 55-year-old man. This stone, measuring approximately 17 centimeters, may be the largest on record. The patient was admitted to the hospital after a stroke and is recovering well. Doctors estimate that the stone may have formed over the past five to ten years. The previous largest recorded stone weighed 1.9 kilograms.
