Recent August rainfalls have provided significant amounts of water, with some areas receiving up to 22 times more than usual. For instance, in Makariotissa, 62 millimeters were recorded in just one day. The rain was localized, with only a few areas reporting high totals while others remained dry. This month has already shown a 31% increase in average rainfall compared to normal levels. Although thunderstorms in August are rare, intense rainfalls have been observed in previous years.
