Investigation Begins into the Sinking of the Petsas I in Cape Greco

The Marine Accident and Incident Investigation Committee (MAIIC) is beginning its investigation into the sinking of the Petsas I vessel in Cape Greco due to bad weather. The investigation aims to collect evidence to enhance maritime safety, and no blame will be assigned. MAIIC will examine the debris and documents related to the incident. A comprehensive report will be submitted within a year, along with recommendations to prevent similar accidents in the future. The Petsas I does not have a black box as it is not required for vessels of that size.
