Possible Increases in Contributions to the Social Insurance Fund
September 2, 2026
During a meeting of the Labor Advisory Body, doubts arose regarding potential increases in contributions to the Social Insurance Fund. The Minister of Labor mentioned that if the new actuarial study shows negative results, a rise in contributions is likely. The Minister of Finance stated that contribution increases would result from rising wages and inflation rates. He also noted that the initial proposal to cut high pensions was rejected for constitutional reasons. Without additional taxation, the funding of social insurances is considered secure.
