Changes in Detention Center Plans

Plans are changing for police detention centers and juvenile facilities based on societal needs. The former migrant detention center in Mennogeia will become the Central Police Detention Center for all districts except Paphos. This will help alleviate issues faced by Police Stations, which are currently dealing with overcrowding and various problems. Improvements are needed in detention conditions to ensure humane treatment of detainees. At the same time, alternatives for juvenile detention centers are being considered to keep them separate from adult prisoners.
