Sofia Christodoulou Makri Leads in EDEK Elections

Sofia Christodoulou Makri is leading in the EDEK elections with 229 votes, followed by Kyriakos Mavronikolas and George Kouttouki. The counting process is ongoing, and a majority of 50 plus one votes is needed to elect a president. If no candidate reaches this number, a second round of elections will be held. Tensions arose during the voting process due to over 700 members being excluded from the electoral rolls. The exclusion was reportedly based on the fact that these members did not vote for EDEK in previous elections.
