Mortgage rates in Cyprus have drastically changed over the last decade. From historically low levels in 2020-2021, borrowers faced sharp increases in 2022 and 2023. The Central Bank is planning further rate hikes, causing borrowers to see their monthly payments spike. While the situation is better than at the peak of 2023-2024, rates remain higher than before. The average Cypriot borrower now faces different challenges regarding their repayments.
