Increased Rainfall in Cyprus During Summer

September 8, 2026

This year, Cyprus experienced one of the rainiest summers in recent decades. According to Kitasweather, the average rainfall from June to August 2026 was 37.6 mm, which is 327% above normal. June had some localized rainfall, while July saw intense storms, including a record 100.3 mm of rain in Agros. August was the wettest month since 1902, with rainfall exceeding 1000% of the normal levels. The continuous rains supported river flow and helped maintain soil fertility.
