Proposals for Changes to Interdepartmental Promotions in the Public Sector

PASYD has proposed the abolition of interdepartmental promotions in the public sector, which were introduced in January 2024. The Minister of Finance seems to agree with this request, acknowledging the problems these promotions caused. Employees promoted to other departments often struggled to fulfill their duties adequately. A mixed committee has been formed to examine the situation and is expected to recommend departmental promotions instead of interdepartmental ones. If the request is approved, a draft bill will be presented in early 2027.
