New legislative proposals to regulate electric scooters

The Parliament is moving forward with new legislative proposals to regulate the use of electric scooters and other personal mobility devices. The aim is to reduce accidents that have resulted in serious injuries and fatalities. The proposed laws include mandatory registration of devices and penalties for minors and their parents. The proposal by Dimitris Souglis establishes a registration database, while that by Chrysanthos Savvidis seeks to increase penalties for violations. The legislation will be discussed in the Parliamentary Transport Committee.
