Estimate of the cost of pension reform

The total additional burden from the pension reform is expected to reach €820 million over six years. The Minister of Labor emphasized that an agreement on the Pension Funds is not necessary for the Social Insurance bill to proceed. The submission of the bill is likely to occur on October 8th. The reform will include the first two phases, while separate legislation will be created for the Pension Funds. Social partners are requesting additional clarifications regarding the costs.
