Need for Strengthening Measures Against Poaching in Cyprus

The complaint against an owner of a fenced area for the illegal trapping of wild birds has raised concerns in Cyprus. Despite numerous complaints, the penalties imposed do not seem to deter poaching. The parliamentary Environment Committee is discussing the need for stricter measures and better law enforcement. Furthermore, there is a focus on the systematic work of the Anti-Poaching Unit. However, these provocative activities remain a persistent problem.
