Development Projects in the Occupied Territories and Political Strategies

Recently, Ankara has increased infrastructure projects in the occupied areas, aiming to strengthen the occupation and its geopolitical strategy. Upcoming illegal elections are prompting these moves, which seem to support the current ruling coalition. The National Unity Party, backed by Ankara, seeks to prevent the Republican Turkish Party from winning the elections. At the same time, strategic projects like the natural gas pipeline and electrical interconnection with Turkey are being promoted. These new infrastructures are intended to deepen the dependency of the occupied territories on Turkey.
