New Government Measures Against Rising Prices

Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, announced new measures to combat rising prices that will be presented at the Cabinet meeting. The measures package will cost approximately 70 million euros and includes the renewal of zero VAT on fish and meat, as well as the inclusion of bread and milk. There will also be a reduction in the excise tax on heating oil. Additionally, there is a proposal to increase the heating allowance for residents of mountainous areas. Furthermore, a reduction of VAT on solar panel purchases and installations from 19% to 9% is suggested.
