Government Announces New Support Measures for Households

The Government announced seven new measures worth €70 million to tackle rising prices, especially for essential goods and energy. The measures include subsidies for electricity, zero VAT on basic products, and a one-time aid of €200 for vulnerable groups. Additionally, there will be a reduction in the consumption tax for heating oil and VAT for photovoltaics. The Minister of Finance stated that surpluses from responsible fiscal policy are being returned to society. The total cost of the existing measures is approximately €160 million.
