Deepening U.S.-Cyprus Relations on Independence Anniversary

Washington expressed its expectations for deepening the partnership with Cyprus on the occasion of Independence Day. Secretary of State Rubio congratulated the Cypriot people and highlighted the ongoing strengthening of U.S.-Cyprus relations. He also mentioned bilateral cooperation in defense and energy sectors. The U.S. maintains its support for a Cyprus-led resolution of the Cyprus issue with U.N. mediation. The U.S. plans to leverage achievements from the past year moving forward.
