Extension of Candidacy Submission for DISY
October 3, 2026
The submission of candidacies for DISY has been extended to October 26, with internal party elections scheduled for November 28. This decision follows concerns about the tight deadlines originally proposed. The party leadership aims to maintain unity, and the Political Bureau meeting sought consensus. Averof Neofytou did not participate due to being abroad, and efforts were made to encourage him to join the process. The party president suggested that all candidates receive support from the party members.
