Official Establishment of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime in Cyprus
October 7, 2026
Today, the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (DOAE), known as the Cypriot FBI, is officially inaugurated. The new agency has already conducted four successful operations against organized crime, leading to significant arrests and asset seizures. It will incorporate the Drug Enforcement Agency and investigators of various specializations for more effective action. Renovations are expected in a new building to be purchased by the Cypriot government for its headquarters. The costs for the new facilities will be covered by assets seized from organized crime.
